Content Guide
How to get photos and videos into BoostLocal and manage your content library.
Google Drive integration
Connect a Google Drive folder and BoostLocal will automatically sync photos from it. Any new images added to the folder are picked up on the next sync cycle (usually within minutes). This is the easiest way to keep your content library fresh if you or your team already store photos in Drive.
You can change the connected folder at any time from the Integrations page.
Upload links
Generate a shareable upload link and send it to your photographer, staff, or customers. Anyone with the link can upload photos directly to your content library without needing a BoostLocal account. Upload links can be set to expire after a certain number of days or uses.
Direct uploads
Upload photos directly from the Content page in your dashboard. Drag and drop files or click to browse. Supported formats include JPG, PNG, WebP, and HEIC. Files are automatically converted and optimized for social media.
Photo scoring
Every uploaded photo is analyzed by AI and assigned a quality score from 1 to 10. The scoring considers:
- Composition: Framing, rule of thirds, visual balance
- Lighting: Exposure, contrast, natural vs. artificial light
- Clarity: Sharpness, noise, blur detection
- Relevance: How well the image fits your business category
Higher-scored photos are prioritized when generating posts. You can override the score manually if you disagree with the AI assessment.
Content library management
The Content Library is your central hub for all media. From here you can:
- View all photos with their scores and usage status
- Filter by source (Drive, upload link, direct upload)
- Mark photos as favorites or archive ones you do not want used
- See which posts each photo was used in
Video creation (Ken Burns)
BoostLocal can turn your static photos into short videos using the Ken Burns effect — a slow pan and zoom that adds movement to still images. These videos are formatted for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. The AI selects the best focal point for each image and applies smooth transitions.
Video creation happens automatically when a Reel or Short is scheduled. No manual editing required.
